An electrical service provider is seeking multiple Commercial Electricians to join their overnight crew in Canada. Applicants can range from 2nd Year Apprentices to Journeypersons. Responsibilities include servicing electrical systems, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Ideal candidates will have relevant certifications and experience in commercial construction, and must be able to work various shifts. This role offers a competitive pay structure based on qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Endorsed Construction and Maintenance Electrician, or Registered Apprentice.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Commercial construction background with EMT conduits experience.

Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain electrical systems on job sites.

Overview

Join to apply for the Commercial Electrician role at Raise.

Raise Workforce has partnered with an Electrical Service provider that focuses on Lighting and Power Distribution for grocery stores and commercial offices. They are continuing to grow their business and in need of several Commercial Electricians to join their overnight crew. At this time, they are able to hire 2nd Year Apprentices to Journeypersons. Payrates are scaled based on the level of Apprenticeship and certifications.

Responsibilities
  • Service and maintain the electrical systems within the job sites and provide assistance where needed
  • Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations
  • Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits; pull wires through conduits and through holes in walls and floors; install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment; install, replace, repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels
  • Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with code
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
  • Connect electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signalling devices and heating and cooling systems; connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers or other components
  • Work in a safe manner, maintaining a safe and organized work area by observing all safety policies and procedures, applying safety training
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common project / site objectives. Exhibit positive and professional attitude and behaviour at all times
  • Emergency standby generator experience an asset.
  • Responsible for materials, tools, and appropriate paperwork
  • Arrive on time and prepared to start work for scheduled shifts
  • Participating in all Safety and Planning meetings as required to attend.
  • Being an active participant in maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and others
Qualifications
  • Red Seal Endorsed Construction and Maintenance Electrician, or Registered Apprentice, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Year.
  • Valid Fall Protection and Aerial Work Platform (Scissor Lift), CSTS 2020 Required
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and other technical drawings.
  • Commercial construction background with experience running EMT conduits
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a small team
  • Good interpersonal skills working in a fast-paced workplace with a sense of urgency
  • Flexibility to work required shifts (nights / days) depending on the site\'s accessibility
