Overview

Cowan Insurance Group is looking for a Commercial Account Executive to join our Trade Credit Insurance Team! The Commercial Account Executive we are looking for is an enthusiastic individual who will be responsible for growth of Trade Credit new business sales. This individual will be a key contributor to Cowan’s growth strategy in Trade Credit and its strong sales culture, through prospecting for new clients. The successful candidate will provide exceptional insurance advice to clients, be able to identify and define insurance needs, work effectively with our markets and our commercial team. You are a sales-driven entrepreneur who is knowledgeable in the Trade Credit and Commercial Insurance industry and able to cultivate relationships with prospective clients.

What you will do
  • Covering Southern Ontario and / or Metro Montreal regions, increase a pipeline of new customer prospects and opportunities
  • Proactively source new business leads, to increase the team’s new customer pipeline, and progressively manage new customers within Ottawa and Montreal regions adding capacity to our present team of Account Executives active in Ontario and Quebec
  • Develop and build relationships with new and existing clients as well as internal and external referral sources and centers-of-influence
  • Identify the clients’ insurance needs and the gap in their current coverages. Respond to their questions and concerns with a sense of urgency
  • Present annual renewals to your clients, evaluate the effectiveness of their current policies, and make appropriate recommendations
  • Coordinate service delivery within the organization to ensure exceptional client satisfaction
  • Ensure high level of client satisfaction and exceptional service delivery through education on products, processes, and services and communication
  • Work with all of the other teams at Cowan to contribute towards the overall commercial strategy
What you will bring
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Commercial Insurance and / or Trade Credit sales
  • RIBO license is required
  • Quebec license (RCCAQ / AMF) is required or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Fluency in both English and French is required, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages
  • Self motivated, customer-focused professional with a strong passion for sales
  • Demonstrate exceptional ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Effective communication at fostering trust and collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Strong ability to collaborate with existing high performing team
  • Analytical skills to build and expand a profitable insurance portfolio
  • Ability to network actively and participate in community and industry events
  • Alignment with the Company values of Integrity, Respect, Client Focused, Collaboration and Accountability
  • CAIB or CIP designation (or working towards designation) would be an asset
