We are looking for a Cloud Developer/Technical Support Specialist who will passionately provide excellent technical customer service support for Google Cloud products, solutions and application programming interfaces (APIs), including AppEngine, BigQuery, Cloud Storage and Databases. Working in a blended call center environment, you will provide real-time technical assistance and developer support over the phone and via online communications based on client requirements as part of a global 24x7 support organization. This role will also work closely with engineers and product managers to improve Google products and help set up their customers for success.

Responsibilities
  • Providing technical developer support to customers using Google Cloud Platform products, solutions & APIs
  • Reproducing customer issues in order to provide a holistic fix
  • Collaborating with internal support teams and customers to identify and document product bugs and feature requests
  • Implement effective solutions through connecting with multi-functional teams and resources
  • Partnering with internal teams to improve cloud products at a senior level
Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Advanced knowledge of English is required: Most interactions are in English with external parties due to international scope
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in one or more languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, Go, or similar
  • Database Management: Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB), and cloud-native databases (e.g., Cloud Spanner, Cloud SQL)
  • Cloud Computing: Understanding of AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Azure, including core services and serverless offerings
  • API Gateway: Familiarity with API gateway services in serverless architectures
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and explain new complex technologies
  • Resourcefulness and strong research skills
  • Ability to read/write code samples and analyze logs and stack traces
  • Punctuality and professional etiquette; 24/7 availability
Great-to-have
  • French language skills are an asset
  • Experience supporting development and deployment of serverless applications
  • GCP Storage expertise (Cloud Storage, Storage Transfer Service, Filestore, etc.) including storage classes, lifecycle management, security, and performance optimization
  • OAuth servers, SQL, cloud computing & PaaS modern API technologies
  • Networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, load balancing) and their impact on storage performance
  • Experience querying logs and writing SQL statements
  • Containerization with Docker/Containerd

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College diploma in Computer Science or 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience building solutions on Linux-based systems
  • Web protocols: HTTP, TLS, etc.
  • Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
  • Version control with Git/GitHub
  • Experience with large systems and systems development or admin experience
  • Database administration in a serverless context, including performance tuning and data modeling
  • Troubleshooting storage-related issues using GCP tools and logs
Certifications
  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification is desired
  • Google Cloud Professional Database Engineer certification is highly desired

The starting salary for this position is standardized for all new hires, ensuring equitable compensation across incoming team members in this role.
