Description

The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie has been caring for children throughout the Hudson Valley for over 175 years! We strive to empower children and families to achieve optimal health and well being. We are currently seeking a Clinician to work in our Anchor Point Crisis Residence Center Program.



Position Summary:


The Clinician will provide short term crisis assessment, crisis counseling, individual and family therapy, treatment planning with behavior management, and clinical interventions that identify the client's emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric crisis. The clinician will implement all assessments and treatments using a strength-based, trauma informed, systems-oriented perspective and will include the development of crisis prevention and safety planning for when the client is discharged back to the community.



Schedule: Monday - Friday minimum 35 hours with flexibility.

Qualifications

MINIMUM:



  • Master's Degree (MSW/MHC) with eligibility for limited permit (licensure exam must be completed within 6 months of hire)

  • Experience working with children and families

  • Valid NYS Driver License in good condition as determined by the Agency

  • Must complete and pass a pre-employment physical, PPD and drug screen and an annual physical and PPD.



PREFERRED:



  • Previous experience in OMH residential or crisis program

  • LMSW, LCSW or LMHC
