Job description

What you’ll do :

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacist is responsible for assisting with the overall operations of the Pharmacy department. Responsibilities include delivering customer service, ordering and stocking pharmaceuticals, filling prescriptions, and providing information to customers. The Pharmacist provides patient-focused care, including clinical services, counselling, professional advice on prescriptions and OTC products, and administering injections and immunizations.

  • Obtain, interpret, and evaluate prescriptions to ensure therapeutic appropriateness, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Supervise Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians, overseeing dispensing duties to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure all medication dispensing processes are accurate and properly managed.

Who you are :

  • You have a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Doctorate in Pharmacy from a recognized institution and are registered with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
  • Preference is given to those with Additional Prescribing Authority (APA) or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
  • You’re familiar with the Kroll pharmacy system (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong leadership, integrity, and work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to adapt to new technology and work effectively in diverse environments.
  • Flexible, action-oriented, and energetic.
