A leading Health Sciences institution in Toronto is seeking a Clinical Extern for Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. This temporary part-time role involves assisting with patient care and collaborating with an interprofessional team. Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a PT or OT graduate program and have an interest in geriatric care. Work hours are flexible, averaging 15 hours bi-weekly.

Reporting directly to the Manager and Interprofessional Practice Chief - Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy & Therapeutic Recreation and supported by the Clinical Extern Coordinator, this ministry funded unregulated health care position will collaborate closely with the Advanced Practice Leader – PT/OT and practices under the supervision of a regulated health care professional (e.g., OT, PT, RN). The Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Clinical Extern position will collaborate with the interprofessional care team in providing daily care within a supportive role through a therapeutic focus (outside of controlled acts) with the platform to develop important clinical skills while increasing their knowledge of a hospital.
