Client Relations Manager - Project Management Volunteers

PMV is a unique initiative focused on connecting non‑profit social purpose organizations and charities with volunteer project management professionals, building project management capability in the non‑profit sector. We are making a positive impact, one project at a time.

Due to recent growth and team member changeover, we are looking for three (3) Client Relations Managers. This is an opportunity to develop and practice project‑level leadership and management skills while supporting non‑profit organizations and volunteer project managers. Participation will build strong networking relationships and result in documentable career‑enhancing achievements. The Client Relations Manager is the most critical client‑facing position within the PMV team.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the face of the PMV brand for both clients and volunteer PMs and be a self‑starter who initiates action
  • Meet with new and existing non‑profit sector clients to assess their specific project management requirements
  • Develop volunteer PM Position Descriptions for projects put forward by non‑profit organizations
  • Support clients as required during the life of the project
  • Mentor volunteer project managers as required
  • Proactively manage PMV’s relationships with volunteer PMs and client representatives during the projects
  • Follow up and resolve any issues or challenges that might arise
  • Facilitate Lessons Learned sessions at the end of all assignments and document outcomes
  • Provide stories and pictures about successful projects
  • Actively seek out and develop project‑management volunteer opportunities with non‑profit organizations
  • Participate in internal PMV initiatives
  • Attend CRM Team meetings and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to interact with varied levels of leadership and demonstrate understanding of business needs
  • Solid knowledge and practical experience in project management, CAPM, PMP etc. is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to communicate with clients, colleagues, and management
  • Experience managing and mentoring others
  • Motivated by the opportunity to help non‑profit organizations become more effective
  • Experience with not‑for‑profit sector is desirable
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
Estimated Time Commitment

Expected to handle 4 client projects per year, with 5–10 hours per month of effort. Must be able to commit to a minimum of 2 years.

Work Location

The majority of clients are located in BC Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. Work can be done remotely, but on‑site meetings with clients and team members will enhance collaboration.
