Job description

Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd.’s ("KCB") Mining Environmental Group has an immediate opening for a Civil Engineering Team Lead to help guide and develop the technical team in our Fredericton office. The selected candidate will be involved in the professional development and management of a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with the other Team Leads across the Mining Environmental Group. Reporting to the Operations Manager, Fredericton, they will carry out their own technical work and develop a team of motivated and hardworking professionals committed to technical excellence and project delivery.

What you would engage in:
  • Promoting technical excellence within the team, and championing our IMS system.
  • Mentoring and coaching staff, challenging them to grow and supporting their professional development.
  • Using effective problem solving techniques to help staff navigate their early careers and overcome challenges.
  • Providing regular feedback and conducting performance evaluations to ensure continuous improvement throughout your team’s experience.
  • Assisting in managing team workload, keeping staff engaged and productive.
  • Encouraging open dialogue to build a collaborative and positive office culture, which includes the values of trust, open communication, creative thinking, and team work.
  • Lead the development of solutions for civil earthwork scopes and multidisciplinary projects within our large dam project portfolio
  • Engage with clients, colleagues and suppliers on environmentally focused field programs and design solutions
  • Be part of a team that develops projects from feasibility through to mine closure phases
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Eligibility to register as a P.Eng. with APEGNB
  • Approximately 12 years’ experience (or more) in one of the following technical disciplines:
    • civil engineering
    • geotechnical engineering
    • hydrotechnical engineering
    • project management
    • hydrogeology
    • geochemistry
  • Be located in, or willing to relocate to Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
  • A passion for mentoring and developing the careers of others
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
  • A desire to help lead a group of highly motivated individuals that work with clients to achieve their objectives, while leaving a positive impact on the environment and local communities
