Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in a Fry Processing Plant is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of boiler systems, water treatment, and steam distribution.
  • Working knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements for boiler operations.

  • Ensure compliance with the Boiler & Pressure Vessel Act and CSA B51 and B52.

Job description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the Chief Powerhouse Engineer will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, “Can Do” attitude and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. This role will Ensure the efficient and safe operation of boiler and refrigeration equipment

  • Annual Salary : $115,000-$130,000
Qualifications
  • Power Engineering Diploma from a recognized institution is required
  • First Class Power Engineering Certificate is required
  • 3-5 Years in a Fry Processing Plant is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of boiler systems, water treatment, combustion efficiency, and steam distribution.
  • Proven leadership experience supervising boiler operators or maintenance staff.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
  • Working knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements for boiler operations.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and record-keeping skills
Responsibilities
  • Lead and Supervise boiler operators, providing them with training, scheduling and performance management
  • Unloading cooking oil, entering arriving quantities into database, and ensuring loads are COA approve
  • Complete timesheets. Schedule and provide explanation for overtime
  • Ensure compliance with Boiler & Pressure Vessel Act, CSA B51 and B52, and all other regulations related to the safe operation of steam and refrigeration equipment
  • During operational clean ups and shutdowns, ensure that all equipment in boiler room and refrigeration are repaired according to government and company regulations
  • Ensure staff work in a safe manner (following lock out/tag out, company policies and procedures)
  • Maintain boiler and refrigeration area according to Irving standards
  • Address any food safety and quality problems as they arise; report those issues that are outside of your area of responsibility or expertise to personnel with authority to initiate corrective measures.
