Overview

Description

The following responsibilities outline what the role does in daily operations. This includes preparing special meals or substitute items, regulating temperatures of ovens/broilers/grills/roasters, thawing frozen items in the refrigerator, and ensuring proper portioning and garnishes. It also includes maintaining food logs, monitoring quality and quantity of prepared food, communicating needs during busy periods, and informing the Chef of excess items for use in daily specials. Staff should be informed of menu specials and out-of-stock items, while maintaining overall food quality, following recipes and presentation standards, and preparing cold foods.

  • Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters.

  • Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.

  • Ensure proper portion arrangement and food garnish.

  • Maintain food logs.

  • Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared.

  • Communicate assistance needed during busy periods.

  • Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials.

  • Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out of stock menu items.

  • Ensure the quality of the food items.

  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist.

  • Prepare cold foods.



Qualifications


  • Education: Technical Trade or Vocational School Degree.

  • Related Work Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience.

  • Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.

  • License or Certification: None



Compensation

The starting pay for this position is $28.19 per hour; the 6-month pay is $32.89 per hour; and the 1-year pay is $37.59 per hour.
