About your next Challenge as a CF188 Aircraft Structure Technician

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Aircraft Structure Technician (ACS) is responsible for structural changes on CF188 while performing repairs related to paint, composite repairs and the aircraft structure.

What will you do
  • Perform structural modifications in accordance with Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTO), technical drawings, mounting specifications, standards of materials and processes and work instructions in force;
  • If necessary, work in the paint, composite repairs machine shop and/or metal shop, be able to perform tasks related to the workshop as ACS technician;
  • Attend training / information sessions as required;
  • Keep Lead Hand or Supervisor informed on technical problems, schedule problems, additional requirement and technician’s welfare;
  • Follow Tool Control rules and regulations;
  • Consult reference documentation such as CFTO’s, work processes and other related documentation;
  • Complete forms, aircraft registers and other documentation properly and as required;
  • Carry out tasks as assigned by the Lead Hand or Team Supervisor;

Also, the aircraft structure technician (ACS) must comply to the administrative and technical regulations of the establishment to which they are assigned, with regard to the following: Health and Safety;

  • DCE - Damage Foreign Object Damage (FOD)
  • Flight Safety
  • Documentation and records
  • Work Instruction
  • Process specifications
Required Skills and Experiences
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience;
  • AME (S) or equivalent military experience;
The ACS Technician shall have qualifications in the following areas
  • Aircraft Refinishing which includes special processes like aircraft and components painting, Alodine and Sealant application;
  • Aircraft structural repairs (secondary and tertiary structures);
  • General metal work including heat treatment process;
  • > manufacturing work; and
  • Basic composite repairs;
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Knowledge of DMS
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good oral and written communication skills in both languages (French and English)
  • Endorsement on CF188 (asset)
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory)
  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
