Job summary
A municipal organization is seeking a Fleet Technician for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of City-owned vehicles. You will diagnose issues, complete repairs, and ensure that all equipment is safe and operational. The ideal candidate will need relevant certifications and experience in automotive repair. This role requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of recent automotive repair experience, including engine diagnostics.
- Familiarity with Ontario Traffic Manual (Book 7 preferred).
- Experience working flexible hours, including shifts, overtime, and winter control.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain a variety of City-owned vehicles and equipment.
- Diagnose issues, perform road tests, and conduct safety checks.
- Install, remove, repair, and maintain vehicle attachments.
- Pick up and deliver vehicles as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to internal customers.

Education
Ontario Certificate of Qualification: Truck and Coach Technician (310T)
Ontario Certificate of Qualification: Automotive Service Technician (310S)

Standard First Aid / CPR C certification
ODP (Ozone Depletion Protection) certification
Drive Clean certification
Propane, Natural Gas, and Hydraulic certifications
Training in Occupational Health and Safety
Tools
Own tools (metric and SAE)
