Qualifications

The Opportunity

Are you ready to inspire the next generation of leaders? As Junior Leadership Director at Camp Glenburn, you’ll take charge of planning and delivering top-quality leadership programming for our Junior Leadership participants. Reporting to the Camp Glenburn Director, you’ll be part of a supportive team dedicated to making a difference in the lives of campers.

Responsibilities
  • Guide Junior Leadership campers in goal setting, skill development, and team building.
  • Plan and execute all aspects of canoe trips, including meal plans, food orders, transportation logistics, camper medication, and gear packing.
  • Develop and implement emergency procedures tailored to leadership programs.
  • Care for, organize, and inventory all camping equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in planning and delivering staff training programs for counseling staff.
  • Serve as a positive role model in all areas of camp life, fostering respect, inclusivity, and fun.
  • Assist with broader camp operations as needed by the Camp Director.
  • Supervise multiple activities, ensuring camper safety, and performing First Aid/CPR when required.
  • Collaborate with your team to structure and deliver meaningful activities for children.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s degree, college diploma, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in camp or youth program settings.
  • Wilderness First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Certifications in NLS, Waterfront, Canoe/Kayak, and Pleasure Craft Operator are assets.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility with work hours and site locations.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Employment is contingent on clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Social Development Clearance Check.
