Title: Calypso Systems Analyst
Type: Contract (6 months, with high potential for extension or full-time conversion)
Schedule: Full-time, 9 AM–5 PM EST, hybrid (2 days in office weekly — Monday and one floating day)
Level: Junior–Intermediate
Hourly Rate: up to $66/hour T4
This role supports system and process improvement initiatives across Capital Markets Middle Office and Derivative Operations. The Calypso Systems Analyst plays a critical part in bridging business and technology functions — managing system configurations, gathering requirements, executing user testing, and driving project delivery for derivatives-related initiatives. The position requires hands-on experience with Calypso configuration, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced, global capital markets environment.
Responsibilities
Systems & Business Analysis
- Lead the analysis, documentation, and validation of business requirements for Calypso system enhancements and process improvements.
- Identify gaps between current and desired functionality to support derivative product operations.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams for system-related issues and enhancements.
- Capture, analyze, and communicate requirements clearly to ensure solutions align with business needs and compliance standards.
Testing & Implementation
- Develop and execute comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans for Calypso initiatives.
- Recommend actions and remediation based on test results to ensure system stability and usability.
- Support the implementation of new business initiatives, products, and regulatory changes within Capital Markets operations.
Stakeholder & Project Delivery
- Serve as the key point of contact for project delivery activities across multiple business lines.
- Facilitate large group sessions with diverse stakeholders to gather and validate requirements for complex projects.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and updates on project progress, priorities, and strategic initiatives for senior management.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent communication and successful execution of deliverables.
Advisory & Continuous Improvement
- Provide consultation and support to business partners on system automation, operational efficiency, and process improvements.
- Contribute to the development and execution of strategic initiatives and service improvements within derivative operations.
- Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory requirements impacting derivatives and capital markets operations.
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in business analysis or operations support, ideally within Capital Markets or Derivative Operations.
- Strong hands-on configuration and/or operational experience with Calypso (mandatory).
- Advanced understanding of trading products, product operations, and middle-office workflows.
- Familiarity with SDLC, project management methodologies, and testing frameworks.
- Exposure to tools such as workflow diagrams, feasibility studies, and data/process modeling.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Professional designations such as MBA, CFA, CBAP, PMP, FRM, or DMS are considered strong assets.
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
- Experience translating complex requirements into clear technical or process solutions.
- Skilled in creating and delivering professional presentations and documentation.
