As a Buyer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our production runs smoothly by managing procurement activities that optimize cost, quality, and delivery. The primary responsibility of the buyer will be to utilize our custom business software to track, forecast, and process orders. About the Role

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing direct and indirect materials to support production schedules and inventory targets. You’ll collaborate with production, logistics, and accounting teams, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and making recommendations for further process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Communicating, negotiating, and managing relationships with our Mandarin-speaking customers and vendors.
  • Manage all aspects of purchasing from requisition to delivery for direct and indirect materials.
  • Issue purchase orders, set delivery schedules, monitor outstanding orders, and expedite when necessary.
  • Coordinate returns, refunds, and warranty issues for non-conforming materials.
  • Source new suppliers and products for new product development, part obsolescence, and manage implementation.
  • Evaluate supplier performance, maintain vendor scorecards, and arrange audits.

Process Optimization & ERP Management

  • Support ERP system improvements through testing, documentation, and implementation.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing parameters and supplier data in the business system.
  • Analyze material requirements to meet production schedules and inventory targets.
  • Track and report monthly cost savings.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Assess global supply chain risks and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to implement risk management strategies for demand, supply, and business continuity.
  • Maintain SDS sheets as required by Health and Safety Policy.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Provide procurement expertise and training to team members as requested.
  • Participate in material review boards and manage RMA / warranty issues with suppliers.
  • Prepare forecasts for suppliers and periodic reports for management.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Production Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience in a production environment.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve conflicts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Proficient in Mandarin.
Preferred:
  • Experience in electronics industry purchasing.
  • Familiarity with VMI programs, international purchasing, and freight coordination.
  • Knowledge of import/export documentation and Incoterms.
