Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and improving our IT systems, working closely with the business to ensure our systems effectively support retail operations. You will play a key role in ensuring seamless integration and optimization of technology to improve business processes, customer experience, and overall operational efficiency.

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

• Work with stakeholders from retail operations, merchandising, marketing, and operations to gather, document, and analyze business requirements.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications and functional requirements for IT systems.
• Identify gaps in current systems and recommend solutions to enhance functionality, efficiency, and user experience.

System Design & Implementation

• Design, implement, and test new or updated systems, including POS systems, inventory management, ERP systems, and other retail-related technologies.
• Develop and improve workflows for order management, inventory allocation, and reporting.
• Lead or assist in system configuration, customization, and integration to align with business objectives.
• Oversee the testing process to ensure new systems meet business requirements, are user-friendly, and perform as expected.

System Optimization & Troubleshooting

• Document and maintain business processes related to e-commerce, wholesale, and retail operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing retail systems in a timely manner to minimize disruptions to business operations.
• Oversee integrations via middleware (e.g. Celigo) to ensure seamless data flows between Shopify, NetSuite, and NuOrder.
• Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve speed, accuracy, and user experience.

Process Improvement

• Collaborate with business leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Implement change control processes for systems like Shopify and Netsuite to control downstream impacts.
• Analyze workflows and recommend technology solutions to streamline retail processes, reduce manual tasks, and improve efficiency.
• Provide recommendations for automating manual tasks, integrating systems, and optimizing business operations.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Ensure that systems are effectively capturing and processing data to provide accurate reports for decision-making.
• Develop and support reporting capabilities, ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are tracked and easily accessible for various business functions.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on system data and analytics.

Training & Support

• Provide training and support to end users on new systems, features, and processes to ensure successful adoption.
• Lead training sessions for new business users.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for user issues, system bugs, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation for systems and processes.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the system owner for key business systems, including Shopify, NetSuite, and Klaviyo.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, and third-party vendors, to ensure systems meet business requirements and are properly maintained.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements, discuss system issues, and identify improvements.

Project Management

• Manage or assist with system-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and resources required.
• Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and according to specifications.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Systems Business Analyst, preferably in the retail or fashion industry.
• Proven experience managing integration platforms (e.g., Celigo) to connect e-commerce, ERP, and CRM systems.
• In-depth understanding of NetSuite ERP workflows and Shopify Plus e-commerce management.
• Skills in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, BPMN) to automate workflows and reduce manual tasks.
• Strong ability to analyze complex business processes and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ability to troubleshoot system issues and identify opportunities for system optimization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience managing or participating in technology projects, with a strong understanding of project life cycles.
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail in gathering requirements, testing systems, and troubleshooting issues.
• Understanding of retail operations, including inventory management, supply chain, sales processes, and customer service, is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of retail systems, including POS systems, ERP, and inventory management software.
• Experience with system integration, configuration, and customization.
• Familiarity with database management and query languages (e.g., SQL).
• Knowledge of retail-specific technologies, such as eCommerce platforms, CRM systems, and business intelligence tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with specific retail systems (e.g., NetSuite, Shopify).
• Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud-based retail solutions and eCommerce integration.
• Certification in business analysis or project management (e.g., CBAP, PMP) is a plus.
