Job Skills / Requirements

As our Business Development Associate, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities by identifying and qualifying potential clients. This position reports to the Vice President, Atlantic Canada, and involves gathering intel to support business development, developing strategic connections, and supporting responses to RFPs with strategic writing. Our ideal candidate has experience in the physical security industry or a related field and is a self-starter who is highly motivated to drive business growth and develop new relationships.

This position supports our Atlantic Canada operations and could be based in Halifax, Moncton, or St. John's.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities by identifying potential clients and generating leads through cold calling, email campaigns, social media, and networking.
  • Evaluate and qualify leads based on predefined criteria and schedule meetings for appropriate Paladin stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all lead interactions and progress in our CRM (HubSpot).
  • Research companies and identify key decision-makers and influencers to target.
  • Work closely with the account management and marketing teams to align lead generation strategies with company goals.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly KPIs related to outbound activities, lead conversion rates, and revenue targets.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Paladin's services to effectively communicate value propositions to prospects.
  • Continuously follow up on leads to nurture relationships and guide prospects through the sales funnel.
  • Prepare and respond to requests for proposals.
Requirements
  • Experience in security, law enforcement, or a related industry (considered an asset).
  • Experience in business development, including door-to-door sales and visiting client sites to generate leads (specifically in B2B sales is a plus).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.
  • Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and sales software (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar), as well as LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, or other lead-generation platforms.
  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and craft solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle rejection, and stay motivated.
  • This position requires moderate travel throughout Atlantic Canada.
