The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a maintenance role and must be able to lift heavy objects regularly. Candidates with additional qualifications such as WHMIS and Aerial Lift Training are preferred. This position offers a monthly salary range from $4,576 to $5,114.

Building Maintenance Coordinator

The Building Maintenance Coordinator role is responsible for overseeing preventive and on-demand maintenance, repair, and operational support across all campus facilities. This includes supervising and directing 6 operations staff in daily tasks, work orders, and all other building maintenance activities.

Acting as both a Building Maintenance Operator and a Supervisor, the position ensures the proper functioning of building systems such as windows, blinds, and occupant requests, coordinates the movement and installation of large furniture, athletic and research equipment, and responds to after-hours emergencies as needed.

In addition, the role serves as a critical link between management and staff, helping to ensure operational needs are met and works collaboratively with departments, contractors, and suppliers to support classrooms, faculty and staff offices, and the broader University community.

Position Qualifications
  • 3 years experience in a Building Maintenance Role,
  • Lift 50lbs or more on a regular basis,
  • Standard Frist Aid/ CPR / AED ,
  • Fall Protection Planning,
  • WHMIS and Aerial Lift Training,
  • Working from Heights Training.
  • The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
  • A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.

Salary

Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $4,576.00 - $5,114.00 monthly

Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $4,576.00 - $5,652.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 9)
