Business Systems Analyst - Documentation- API Security
Location : Toronto, Canada (Hybrid – 4 days)
Contract Role

Overview

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst with a strong background in Akamai API Security to join our Security team. This role focuses on documentation, process mapping, and cross-functional collaboration to support platform and business process understanding. The ideal candidate will be a fast learner, an excellent communicator, and a Confluence/JIRA expert.

Key Responsibilities

• Documentation & Analysis
• Document platform architecture, API security workflows, and business processes.
• Create and maintain detailed business flow diagrams and technical documentation.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation.
• Process Mapping & Collaboration
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Security, DevOps, Product, etc.) to gather and validate information.
• Map current and future state business processes related to Akamai API security.
• Identify gaps and improvement opportunities in existing documentation and processes.
• Tools & Communication
• Use Confluence to manage and publish documentation.
• Use JIRA to track tasks, requirements, and project progress.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders (verbal and written).

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience with Akamai API Security or similar API security platforms.
• Strong documentation skills with experience in Confluence and JIRA.
• Ability to quickly ramp up on new technologies and business domains.
• Experience in creating business flow diagrams (e.g., using Lucidchart, Visio).
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working in Agile environments is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in cybersecurity or API management.
• Experience with other documentation tools (e.g., Notion, SharePoint).
• Familiarity with SDLC and DevSecOps practices
