Job Description

Imagine playing a central role in reducing the carbon footprint of Canada’s busiest public transit system while working for a consistently ranked Top Employer with a global reach. As part of the ONxpress consortium, Alstom is proudly transforming the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project, and we are hiring for hundreds of roles. The GO Expansion scope includes new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signaling, telecommunications, digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain BIM models using Autodesk Revit and Civil3D for rail corridor projects.
  • Import and integrate files from various platforms (e.g., Civil 3D, IFC, DWG) into Revit for use as design inputs.
  • Arrange and position equipment accurately within rail corridor layouts.
  • Create and manage custom Revit families, ensuring proper attributes and parameters for project requirements.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with design teams, update actions, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain compliance with project BIM standards and execution plans.
  • Manage assigned areas independently, ensuring timely updates and quality deliverables.
  • Utilize Dynamo for automating repetitive tasks and enhancing workflows; knowledge of creating custom scripts is a plus.
  • Support integration of automated workflows into BIM processes for improved efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure smooth data exchange and coordination.
Performance Measurements
  • Model signalling equipment accurately based on signalling schematic plans.
  • Produce detailed and precise drawings extracted from BIM models for design and construction as per requirements.
  • Resolve clashes within the model identified by BIM coordinators.
  • Maintain the BIM model in a healthy condition at all times, including proper file structure, naming conventions, and compliance with BIM Execution Plan requirements.
  • Follow all project-specific BIM Execution Plan requirements and ISO 19650 guidelines throughout the modelling process.
  • Actively participate in coordination meetings, update assigned actions, and collaborate with design teams for timely input and issue resolution.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Architecture or Engineering or equivalent education.
  • BIM and/or AutoCAD Certification preferabel.
  • Hands‑on experience with Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
  • 2+ years of BIM modelling experience on complex projects.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit and good understanding of Civil 3D interoperability.
  • Knowledge of family creation, parameter management, and attribute assignment.
  • Familiarity with Dynamo scripting and automation workflows (advantageous).
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and communicate effectively with design teams.
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of handling complex coordination tasks.
