The opportunity:

The University of Manitoba is looking for a Benefits Operations Lead. This position plays a key role in overseeing and supporting the day-to-day delivery of employee benefits programs. This position ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and effective data management across all benefit-related workflows. The role also serves as a resource for the benefits team, handling complex cases and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives as an escalation point prior to requiring Manager assistance.

The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is required.
  • Professional designation such as CEBS or GBA are preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of directly related benefits experience or related role in a large dynamic organization is required.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and benefits systems is required.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritizing, communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Attention to detail, strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment is required.
  • Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
