Overview

Basecamp Outfitters is a retail outdoor gear and camping store that operates 7 days a week. We are looking for part-time sales associates, willing to work daytime/evening shifts, weekday/weekends (the position has the potential to become full-time). Successful applicants must be confident working with others in a busy and upbeat retail environment as a sales associate, selling technical outerwear, camping supplies and accessories. We are looking for associates that share our passion for Jasper National Park, the outdoors, healthy lifestyles, and outdoor activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting technical outerwear, camping gear and accessories.
• Provide excellent customer service in a busy retail environment.
• Work collaboratively with team members and contribute to a positive store atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is required, with past experience using retail POS systems. Experience with Lightspeed Retail-R Series is an asset.
• Upbeat and energetic personality capable of working with others, as well as confident working alone.
• Proficient/fluent English communication. Knowledge of other languages is an asset for dealing with international visitors.
• Knowledge of Jasper National Park and surrounding area, local hiking trails and camping spots is an asset.
• Knowledge of technical outerwear, camping gear, and related accessories.
• Active and outdoor-centric lifestyle is an asset.
