Café Au Play., a family-owned new business located in Trenton, Ontario is seeking a Part Time/ CasualBarista.

At Café au Play, we offer a unique and vibrant environment that combines a cozy café with an indoor play space for families. Our mission is to provide a family-friendly, relaxing space where parents can enjoy delicious coffee and treats while their children explore and play in a safe, engaging indoor environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages to customers in a timely manner.
• Offer food items from the café menu, such as baked goods, sandwiches, and snacks.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions about the menu, and making personalized recommendations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, equipment, and seating areas.
• Handle cash and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently.
• Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to ensure a clean and safe environment for both guests and staff.
• Support the overall operations of the café and play space by coordinating with other staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
• Engage with children and parents to create a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a barista or in a café setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
• Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a passion for working with families and children.
• Ability to follow food safety and hygiene standards. Valid Food Handler’s Certificate is an asset
• Valid First Aid / CPR Training an asset
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
