The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto Mississauga invites applications for a full-time tenure-stream position in the Language, Epistemology, Mind, Metaphysics (LEMM) areas of philosophy. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
Qualifications: Applicants must have earned a PhD in Philosophy or a closely related field with a clearly demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths. Candidates will have an established international reputation and will be expected to sustain and lead innovative and independent research, and to maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program. The successful candidate’s research will focus on one or more of the LEMM areas.
Evidence of excellence in research will be demonstrated by a record of sustained high-impact contributions and publications in top-ranked journals, a strong research statement, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements from referees of high standing.
The successful candidate is expected to strengthen undergraduate education and tri-campus graduate education in one or more of the LEMM areas of philosophy.
Evidence of excellence in teaching and experience in research supervision will be demonstrated through teaching accomplishments, the teaching dossier, and strong letters of reference.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The advertised position is on the Mississauga campus. The Graduate Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto is tri-campus, with graduate teaching and supervision typically taking place on the St. George campus.
