Position Overview

We are looking for a smart, driven and results oriented individual to join Forum’s growing private equity investment group in the role of Associate, Private Equity on a one-year term, with the possibility of an extension.

The Associate, Private Equity will work closely with team members to help lead deal teams in originating, executing and managing investments and will play an important role in the success of Forum’s private equity strategy. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-performing individual seeking to gain valuable experience with a top-tier investment platform.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Research, analyze and evaluate new investment opportunities
  • Build complex and dynamic financial models to assist in investment evaluation, structuring, financing and performance measurement
  • Perform diligence and investment analysis on historical financial results, competitive positioning, market and industry trends and other relevant investment factors
  • Conduct comparable and intrinsic valuation analyses, including comparable company, precedent transaction, discounted cash flow and other valuation methodologies
  • Prepare internal and external investment memoranda, presentations, reports and proposals
  • Support deal teams in the coordination and execution of new acquisitions, investments, financings and strategic initiatives
  • Liaise with portfolio company management teams, receive regular business performance updates and assist with business development initiatives
  • Assist with the management and monitoring of portfolio investments and preparation of memos communicating investment performance to senior colleagues
Candidate Profile
  • University degree in Finance, Economics, Business/Commerce or a related discipline
  • 2 years of experience or more in a transactional environment, including investment banking, private equity, private credit, venture capital, project development, and/or corporate development
  • CFA/CPA/CA designations considered assets
  • Proven track record of outstanding academic achievement and performance
  • Advanced knowledge of financial, valuation, accounting and economic concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in-depth financial modeling and investment analysis
  • Familiarity with debt financing products, including corporate, project and structured finance
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to succeed in an agile, high performance team culture
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders and conduct thorough diligence
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management skills and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and leadership capabilities
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic and high integrity
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
