Overview

We are seeking a Process Re-Engineering Specialist to join our CFO Data & Automation team. This role is critical in driving the transformation of Finance processes by identifying, redesigning, and automating workflows. You will leverage and promote the use of RPA, low-code/no-code platforms, and other automation and efficiency tools to reduce manual work, streamline reporting, and improve controls. This is a senior-level position requiring both strategic problem-solving and hands-on solution delivery. You will collaborate with Finance teams across the organization, helping them reimagine processes, deliver sustainable automation, and unlock capacity for higher-value work.

What you will do
  • Partner with Finance stakeholders to assess, analyze, and redesign processes, ensuring alignment with business needs and automation opportunities.
  • Lead end-to-end automation delivery using RPA and other tools, from requirements gathering to solution implementation and adoption.
  • Build frameworks and methodologies for process improvement, standardization, and automation pipeline management.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Finance leaders on automation and efficiency opportunities, balancing technical feasibility with business impact.
  • Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by promoting self-service automation and upskilling Finance staff on low-code/no-code tools.
  • Ensure automated processes are well-documented, controlled and compliant with audit and SOX standards.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the team\'s overall technical and strategic capabilities.
What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree or professional designation (CPA, CFA, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, etc.) is an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in Finance process transformation, automation, or related fields
  • Proven track record of delivering automation solutions (RPA, Power Automate, Alteryx, or similar tools)
  • Proficiency in Excel VBA
  • Strong knowledge of Finance processes (e.g., month-end closing, Pega attestation, Peoplesoft/Adjustment Capture entries, financial and regulatory disclosures)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to simplify complexity and design scalable solutions
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency in Python, specifically Pandas, Sqlalchemy, Numpy and Selenium packages
  • Proficiency in Blue Prism
  • Experience in RBC IT systems and service platforms (e.g. Peoplesoft, Pega, EPM, Confluence, ServiceNow, Access Manager)
  • Knowledge of RBC products and businesses
