Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Chair is responsible for providing a range of management functions in support of the Chairs of the Academic Departments in the School of Wellness, Public Safety and Community Studies.
The Associate Chair is the first line of support in the resolution of student complaints, academic misconduct, academic appears and grade reviews. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing and supporting retroactive accommodation requests and the management of students on academic probation.
The Associate Chair supports the Academic Chairs with the recruitment and onboarding of other-than-full-time faculty (developing, managing and assisting in their evaluation including reviewing course evaluations and providing support related to performance improvement). The Associate Chair is responsible for building a pool of qualified candidates for the programs identified by the Chairs.
The Associate Chair supports marketing and interacts with other college departments to ensure smooth operations of the School of Wellness, Public Safety and Community Studies.
