Assistant Store Leader
Kate Spade
General purpose of the position: Partner with store leadership to produce successful financial results. Provide leadership to the team to execute sales generation, clientele development, operational, visual, recruitment, and administrative functions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Client & Service Expert:
- Develop a clientele through proactive outreach and maintain relationships with new clients.
- Partner with SM to develop initiatives that build repeat business or attract new customers, such as events and marketing opportunities.
- Ensure associates actively utilize their client books to increase sales through reviews and outreach.
- Ensure team compliance with clientele standards and thank you note programs.
- Ensure all associates complete sales training programs.
Sales Leadership & Talent Stewardship:
- Assist SM in achieving financial success by improving measurable results.
- Responsible for assuming SM role in their absence.
- Lead by example with personal sales goals.
- Educate and coach team on product knowledge, sales plans, goals, and stats.
- Network in the community to fill open positions efficiently and build a talent pipeline.
- Manage recruitment duties, including scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates.
- Onboard new team members and conduct ongoing performance reviews.
Brand Building & Brand Equity:
- Understand and communicate the Kate Spade brand aesthetic, philosophy, and lifestyle.
- Ensure brand and operating standards are met, including visual merchandising and store presentation.
- Communicate merchandise performance, stock levels, trends, and customer feedback to SM.
Operational Excellence:
- Perform store opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and security.
- Assist SM with payroll and scheduling to manage budgets.
- Follow policies and procedures focusing on loss prevention.
- Accurately process POS transactions to maintain inventory integrity.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Professional sales and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze reports and respond to business trends.
- Decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in Windows-based software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Physical Requirements:
- Availability to work store schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years management experience in retail.
- Luxury goods experience preferred.
