Overview

The Principal Faculty will report directly to the Program Director and support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the PA program’s curriculum. (0.25 FTE)

Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and revise the mission statement, goals, and competencies of the program.
  • Select applicants for admission to the PA program.
  • Provide student instruction in public health, research methods, and the applied learning series.
  • Evaluate student performance.
  • Academic advising and counseling of students.
  • Ensure the availability of remedial instruction.
  • Design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate the clinical and didactic curriculum.
  • Evaluate the program.
  • Serve on PA Program Committees, attend ad-hoc meetings, commencement, and convocation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with PA or medical clinical education.
  • Excellent oral, written, and computer skills.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Knowledge of curriculum and course development.
  • Ability to network and interact professionally with students, faculty, staff, clinical sites, and preceptors.
Required Education and Experience
  • Relevant Master’s Degree in a science and / or health-related area from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in undergraduate or graduate education.
  • Preferences: Current NCCPA certification, Tennessee medical license or eligibility, experience in PA education.
