Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager in daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales performance. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a passion for retail management. The Assistant Manager will also be responsible for training and developing staff while maintaining high standards of store presentation and inventory control.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing daily store operations to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Supervise and train staff on customer service best practices, sales techniques, and operational procedures.
  • Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing.
  • Conduct employee orientation and training sessions to foster team development.
  • Handle payroll processing and bookkeeping tasks accurately.
  • Manage shift schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
  • Implement marketing strategies to promote store initiatives and drive sales.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the store.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Assist with recruiting efforts by conducting interviews and onboarding new employees.
  • Utilize POS systems for cash handling, sales tracking, and reporting.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in retail management or as an Assistant Manager.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Proficient in retail math, inventory control, merchandising, and pricing strategies.
  • Experience with cash handling procedures and financial management practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with effective time management abilities.
  • Familiarity with administrative tasks related to store operations.
  • Knowledge of grocery store operations is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments while maintaining focus on customer satisfaction.
