This position is a full-time (1.0 FTE) tenure-track (contingent) position, comprised of approximately 50% clinical workplace-based teaching and 50% academic pursuits, including research (10%), teaching (20%), and administration (20%).

Key responsibilities include :

  • Working collaboratively with the Director, Faculty Development to design, implement, and evaluate faculty development programs that support clinical teaching, scholarly activity, and professional growth across both the department and within the community, including undergraduate and postgraduate educators.
  • Providing mentorship and coaching to faculty members at various stages of their academic careers, with an emphasis on enhancing teaching effectiveness, academic leadership, and career progression.
  • Collaborating with departmental and institutional leaders to align faculty development initiatives with broader strategic goals, accreditation requirements, and equity, diversity, and inclusion principles.
  • Organizing and facilitating workshops, seminars, retreats, and other faculty development activities tailored to the needs of clinical academic faculty. This may include continuous medical education offerings as part of a greater vision of equipping our teachers in clinical practice.
  • Supporting faculty in their academic roles by offering guidance on promotion and tenure processes, academic dossier preparation, and scholarly productivity.
  • Contributing to the scholarship of teaching and faculty development through research, evaluation, and dissemination of best practices.
  • Participating in departmental committees, meetings, and academic service activities relevant to the faculty development portfolio.
