Overview of Responsibilities
  • Ensures consistent guest service capacity.
  • Maintains quality in all operations through ensuring high quality team service standards and best practices are understood and followed by on-site service teams.
  • Supports the OM in driving service results through hands‑on leadership of the team, guiding training and coaching requirements through active on‑site participation.
  • Supports training and recruitment as directed by OM.
  • Supports OM in department planning for events and other service operations.
  • Leads the service teams in execution of events and provides positive interactions with guests, staff, venue partners, and suppliers.
  • Supports all colleagues in their duties and provides flexibility in being hands‑on within all aspects of operations.
  • Supports the OM, GM, and management team in planning top priorities in the areas of guest and team experience.
  • Ensures all cash handlings policies, health & safety requirements, building and equipment maintenance standards meet company and government standards in all aspects of operational and team day‑to‑day execution.
  • Ensures clear and effective communications within department and with other leaders.
  • Understands and is effective in all department administration functions.
  • Able to work and support operations as necessary at other locations.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
  • Currently located in Canada with valid permission to work in the country.
  • Past supervisory/leadership experience; ideally in events or banquets.
  • Developed leadership skills.
  • Serving it Right and Food Safe certificates.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior time management and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A warm, confident and customer focused personality.
  • Physically capable as this role can involve lifting and periods of standing/walking.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated and self‑directed.
  • Your own vehicle is required as some travel is required within the Greater Victoria area.
