Apprentice Plumber

Location: Burnaby, BC V3B 0P2

Work setting: Various locations, construction sites.

Transportation: Own transportation.

Salary: $52,000 per year (80 hours bi-weekly)

Employment type: Permanent, full-time.

Starting date: As soon as possible.

Vacancies: 5 vacancies.

Responsibilities
  • Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
  • Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size.
Qualifications

Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma.

Experience: Experience an asset.

Skills and abilities: Accurate, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, judgement, team player.

Physical requirements: Bending, crouching, kneeling, hand-eye coordination.

Tools and equipment: Tools, steel‑toed safety boots.

Other: Own transportation required.
