Qualifications

  • Experience in rolling, high speed, and sectional doors preferred.
  • Electrical experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record – Class 5.
  • Service-oriented individual with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must pass background check.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Commercial Service Technician Apprentice

Hourly Rate: $23.00 – $30.00

Location: Calgary, Alberta

We are innovative, customer‑centric, professional, and our goal is to provide exceptional service for our customers. This role is pivotal as the primary support for commercial / industrial customers, responsible for service and installation of Doors and Docks in today’s ever‑changing market. Our apprentice positions offer an opportunity to grow with the business and become a master technician. We have a solid backlog of work and are looking for the right team members to join our crew!

In this position as a Commercial Apprentice, you will learn, under the direction of your lead crew man, the areas of installing, troubleshooting and repairing commercial / industrial doors, door opening systems, gate opening systems and dock leveling systems. This position has working conditions that expose you to various weather conditions and require you to work in a dirty, dusty, oily environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the service and install various products, including sectional doors, rolling doors, and high speed doors.
  • Assist with repair and troubleshoot defective equipment.
  • Assist with maintaining proper truck stock, inventory, and company vehicle.
  • Assist with accurate timekeeping; detailing job numbers, travel time, labeling equipment, and completing job assignments timely.
  • Observe lead Technician interact with customers, end‑users, and general contractors courteously and professionally.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to address diverse door and site requirements.
  • Assist with performing routine preventative maintenance.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Promote the company’s operational visions, values, and goals.
  • Participate in training or other team activities to support ongoing continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or his / her designate.
Qualifications
  • Experience in rolling, high speed, and sectional doors preferred but contact us if you have some or most of the above.
  • Electrical experience is a plus.
  • Some travel required (overnight, on call).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record – Class 5.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to handle a physical workload.
  • Proficient with power tools.
