Animal Care Attendant, Oncology Location: Scarborough, ON

Employment Type: Full Time

Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital is a busy emergency and referral hospital that is currently looking for an Animal Care Attendant to join our Referral Hospital in our Oncology Department. This full-time opportunity includes a range of responsibilities that directly attributes to the efficient and effective daily operations of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Doctors and RVTs with appointments & procedures. Including but not limited to: restraint for IV catheter placement, radiographs and chemotherapy
  • Patient care: walking, feeding,
  • Excellent customer service skills; a positive attitude and the ability for putting pets and pet parents at ease in a sensitive and emotional situations.
  • General housekeeping duties; pet holding areas, treatment areas, and common areas
  • Willingness to learn and take on additional duties as needed
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Ability to maintain our high standard of care for patients
  • Ability to prioritize and having a team focus
  • Animal handling experience is an asset
