Depuis 2008, McGill St Laurent coordonne des chaînes d’approvisionnement physiques en matières premières et offre des solutions financières sur mesure à des clients des secteurs du bois, de l’agriculture et de l’énergie. En 2022, nous avons fondé McGill St Laurent Climate Solutions afin d’accompagner les entreprises dans la décarbonation de leurs activités. Nous sommes des traders en attributs environnementaux et aidons nos clients à naviguer dans la complexité des marchés du carbone, tant volontaires que réglementés.

Since 2008, McGill St Laurent has coordinated physical commodity supply chains and offered customized financial solutions to customers in the wood, agriculture and energy sectors. In 2022, we founded McGill St Laurent Climate Solutions to support companies in decarbonizing their operations. We participate in the development of carbon projects, aggregate high-quality carbon credits and offer efficient, customized climate solutions to our customers.

Responsabilités
  • Support the development and improvement of derivatives trading strategies.
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis of various compliance carbon programs across the world.
  • \
  • Run quantitative research, back testing, and performance/risk analysis on new strategies.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance pricing, forecasting, and scenario models to support trading decisions.
  • Produce and monitor risk metrics.
  • Clean, structure, and automate market and internal datasets; streamline reporting in Python/Excel.
  • Create simple dashboards/reports for trading and risk monitoring.
  • Draft a weekly compliance market newsletter.
Qualifications
  • University degree (BSc/MSc completed or in progress) in mathematics, financial engineering, data science, statistics, quantitative economics, or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL and Excel (modelling; VBA is a plus).
  • Proven experience with data cleaning, analysis, and time‑series handling and statistical modelling.
  • Solid understanding of financial modelling, forecasting, optimization, and derivatives markets.
  • Ability to quickly absorb complex information and deliver relevant analysis in context.
  • High ownership mindset: autonomy and a strong problem‑solving attitude.
  • Bilingual French/English (spoken and written).
  • Interest in the carbon market.
