Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in Commercial real estate underwriting, valuation, or credit analysis.
  • Progress towards a CFA and/or CBV designation is an asset.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $85,000 /yr depending on experience

Intellifi is the leading provider of independent mortgage pricing, risk rating and asset management software services for the commercial real estate finance industry in Canada. Our clients include some of Canada’s most prominent financial institutions, investment managers and pension funds. Our clients engage our risk rating, spread matrix and mortgage pricing services to support “mark to market” accounting, performance measurement, and portfolio valuation.

We are seeking an Analyst or Senior Analyst for the right candidate, to join our small team of dynamic commercial mortgage professionals in our Vancouver or Toronto office. This is an opportunity to work with innovative asset management technology and gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate investments while learning from industry leaders.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Support the collection of information required to complete annual risk ratings from clients and report results.
  • Conduct risk analysis of various fixed income products secured by commercial real estate.
  • Conduct valuation and pricing of commercial mortgages using DCF and market-based approaches.
  • Develop an expertise in the Commercial Mortgage sector in Canada.
  • Address client investment and risk queries and respond to information requests as they relate to the sector.
  • Contribute to industry and market research initiatives; maintain research databases.
  • Assist with software development, testing and automation initiatives.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and process improvements as required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in Commercial real estate underwriting, valuation, or credit analysis.
  • Undergraduate degree in one of the following concentrations: Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, or Economics.
  • Progress towards a CFA and/or CBV designation is an asset.
  • Intermediate to advanced level user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and PowerBI.
  • Strong understanding of real estate finance and underwriting principles.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, results driven, and able to take ownership of assigned work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Bilingual in English and French is considered an asset.
