Overall Responsibilities

The Commercial Operations Analyst, Canada Business Unit (BU), will play a critical role in supporting sales planning, forecasting, and trade management activities. This role is focused on enabling high-quality data by creating excel based tools, ensuring the accuracy of data inputs and related consolidations, and providing analytical support that drives business decisions.

The Analyst will work closely with the Senior Manager, Commercial Operations, and cross-functional partners across Sales, Finance, Demand Planning, and Marketing to deliver accurate reporting, support corporate planning steps, and ensure alignment across the BU.

This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties
Planning Support
  • Assist in the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and quarterly LEs by consolidating inputs into standardized templates.
  • Support development of annual and quarterly BU, channel, and customer targets through accurate data gathering and validation.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to support planning scenarios and presentations.
Forecasting & Reporting
  • Consolidate and validate sales forecasts from multiple sources.
  • Perform accuracy checks, highlight variances, and elevate risks to the Senior Manager.
  • Maintain forecast tracking tools, ensuring data is current, reliable, and reconciled with Finance reporting.
  • Prepare regular reporting dashboards and performance updates for stakeholders.
Trade Management
  • Support the execution of trade management processes, ensuring inputs from Key Account Managers and Sales leaders are captured accurately.
  • Track and monitor trade spend and deduction balances to highlight variances and assist in resolving/escalating discrepancies.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure alignment between commercial and financial reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Sales, Demand Planning, Finance, and Marketing to collect inputs, resolve data gaps, and ensure consistency in reporting.
  • Provide clear and timely communication of updates, risks, and findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Support the Senior Manager in preparing materials for BU Leadership Team discussions.
Process & Continuous Improvement
  • Assist in the development and documentation of standardized tools, templates, and reporting processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in forecasting, planning, and reporting.
  • Support adoption of new systems and tools as they are implemented.
Critical KPIs
  • Volume Forecast Accuracy: Deliver forecast accuracy within the revenue guidance for all quarters.
  • Trade Spend Variance: Quarterly and annual delivery of trade within 1% of aligned Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Reporting Timeliness & Quality: Update all assigned report with error free work.
