Overview

AltaGas - Strategy & Planning Analyst

As aDigital Strategy & Planning Analyst, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we prioritize and plan technology investments across the company. You’ll partner with business and digital teams to identify opportunities, strengthen decision-making data, and support the development of a disciplined, transparent technology portfolio. This role is central to the “Plan” pillar of our Plan, Build, Run model and directly contributes to our digital transformation journey.

Responsibilities
  • Gather and analyze key data to support prioritization of technology investments and advise senior leaders on portfolio recommendations.
  • Become an expert in business data, KPIs, and value chains to support investment evaluation.
  • Collaborate with Program Delivery, Business Solutions, Cyber Security, and Infrastructure teams to maintain visibility into the technology demand pipeline and project budgets.
  • Capture and refine functional requirements before vendor engagement.
  • Build and maintain a digital asset lifecycle process to support long-range planning and reduce asset risk.
  • Evaluate current processes and design future-state improvements for efficiency and value.
  • Support monthly digital performance reporting with key leaders.
  • Partner with Finance and Supply Chain to structure contracts that enable successful projects.
  • Represent our core values while engaging employees, customers, and vendor partners.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and dive into technical details as needed.
  • Research emerging technologies, data approaches, and analytics tools to fuel innovation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • A strong desire to contribute to digital transformation and Passion for continuous learning and team development.
  • Intermediate understanding of business case development.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Background in MIS, Finance, Supply Chain, or IT Architecture; consulting experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of IT application lifecycles and experience in project delivery or business analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience with senior stakeholders.
  • Lean process design experience is an asset.
