Job summary

A leading Canadian airport is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to ensure uninterrupted service at the airport. This full-time role involves the maintenance of all airport-owned mobile equipment, including firefighting vehicles and snow removal equipment. Candidates must have a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification and 3-5 years of experience. This position requires shift work and the ability to work on-call, stationed in Iqaluit, Nunavut.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ previous experience as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
• Experience with vehicle software, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and inspections of heavy and light equipment.
• Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical systems.
• Weld and modify new and existing equipment to improve performance.
