Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in delivering Agile solutions.
  • Expert understanding of Agile frameworks, particularly Scrum.
  • Ideally, business knowledge in Insurance or Financial Services.

What you’ll do:

  • Contributes to setting the roadmap and vision for the development of the Agile Roadmap within Aviva and drives execution of committed Roadmap milestones

  • Hires, manages, coaches and develops a team of Scrum Masters, including taking hiring versus outsourcing decisions and assessing theperformance of external Scrum Masters.

  • Assesses the maturity of product owners and other key Agile roles, identifies gaps and helps closing gaps through targeted training, coaching and hands-on tooling

  • Anticipates demands for Agile key roles within the transformation portfolio and works with stakeholders incl. IT, Business and Transformation Management Office (TMO) to develop approaches to fill supply gaps

  • Actively coaches and trains Scrum Masters, Product Owners and, as applicable, other key roles in Agile delivery. This will include key responsibilities ways of Agile working and Agile ceremonies, tools and templates support.

  • Contributes to defining and implementing approaches to scale Agile across the transformation portfolio

  • Advises and leadsselected Agile delivery teams within Aviva on Agile set-up, practices, process, and overall approach to executing quickly and with quality

  • Work with key stakeholders within TMO, IT and the business to define key Agile metrics aimed at enabling forecasting/predictability of delivery. Works with the Agile delivery teams to capture the agreed-on metrics, address data shortcomings and provide reliable progress reports across the transformation portfolio

  • Work with stakeholders within TMO to augment ACF (Aviva Change Framework) artefacts with Agile metrics and tools

  • Actively drives Agile maturity assessments and health checks across the transformation portfolio

  • Owns and develop key onboarding material for transformation initiatives

  • Coaches, mentors, and trains Aviva delivery teams members on industry leading Agile, Scrum, and Kanban processes; motivates and supports the team by answering general questions and providing guidance

  • Consolidates learnings, approaches, best practices across the Agile initiatives, shares them out within the wider Aviva Agile community and actively conducts knowledge-sharing events

  • Represents Aviva at key Agile industry events and communities of practice

What you’ll bring:

  • 10+ years’ experience in delivering Agile solutions as an Agile Coach, Scrum Master, Product Owner or equivalent, leading 3-5 teams.

  • An expert understanding of Agile values and principles.

  • Profoundknowledge of a range of Agile frameworks, with a focus on Scrum.

  • Ideally, Insurance or Financial Services business knowledge.

  • Good stakeholder management skills and an ability to inspire individuals and teams to change and improve.

  • Knowledge of widely successful Agile techniques and software development processes:

  • Self-motivation and willingness to learn and explore new ideas.

  • Certifications in CSM, PSM, is a must – in addition, certification in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) preferred.
