Job summary

An organization supporting recreational activities in Victoria, Canada is seeking a CLASS 4 unrestricted after-school care driver. Responsibilities include driving a bus to pick up children from school and bringing them back to the recreation centre. Candidates must have a CLASS 4 driver's license, be at least 19 years old, and possess First Aid and CPR certifications. Classification: JB05, Program Instructor III

Hours of Work: 1-5 days per week, Monday to Friday, 1:45 to 3:45PM for the school year. An opportunity to work additional hours in-program as a leader also exists, if desired. Please discuss availability in your application.

West Shore Parks & Recreation is looking for dedicated, passionate, and energetic staff to join our team as a CLASS 4* unrestricted after-school care driver SUB for the kids of the Westshore. We also offer flexible work schedules and opportunities to cross train and work in other areas, if desired.

In addition to great wages, we offer an additional 14% in pay, per hour, in lieu of benefits; access to counselling; a staff facility pass which provides drop-in access to the weightroom, fitness classes, skating, pool, as well as the ability to play on our 9-hole golf course.

JOB DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

• This position is responsible for driving a 24-passenger bus to pick up kids in the Westshore after school each day and bring them back on-site to the JDF recreation centre.
• Adaptable to new and changing programs and people.
• Ability to problem-solve and seek solutions.
• Communication and organizational skills required.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current CLASS 4* unrestricted drivers’ license is required.
  As a licensed care program, candidates must be a minimum of 19 years of age.
  Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C certification is required.
• Skills, knowledge, and experience driving buses.
• Experience working with children is an asset.

A clear and current criminal record check (employer initiated) is a condition of employment and is the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
