Job summary

An educational institution in Nova Scotia seeks a Student Supervisor to provide supervision for students before and after school, as well as during lunch and recess breaks. The ideal candidate will have current CPR and First Aid training, experience working with children or adolescents, and the ability to foster positive relationships with students. Student Supervisor - 1.00 hour per day (1 pm - 2 pm)

Starting Wages: $18.38 per hour

Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU) Local 73 Bargaining Unit.

Student supervisors provide indoor and/or outdoor general student supervision.

Qualifications and Abilities:

• Develop and maintain positive rapport with students.
• Current CPR and First Aid training.
• Previous experience working with children and/or adolescents.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and take initiative.
• Bona fide occupational requirements of the position, including physical ability.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide supervision for students before and after school, during the lunch and recess breaks.
• Familiarization of any medical or programs students may have (e.g., specific behaviour plans).
• Report to the principal or designate any problem or discipline issue that occurred during supervision.
• Other duties that are site specific (polices and protocol) and within the scope of responsibility of the position.
