A leading forestry company is seeking an Administrative Assistant/Payroll Coordinator for their Hudson Bay facility. This role will manage payroll compliance, perform a variety of administrative duties, and offer HR support. The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least three years of administrative experience, demonstrating strong organizational and communication skills. An attractive compensation range of $58,800 - $81,000 and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Job description

Weyerhaeuser Company is currently recruiting for an Administrative Assistant/ Payroll Coordinator for our OSB facility located in Hudson Bay, SK.

We are seeking an individual to provide expertise and support to the Mill for tasks, including general office administrative responsibilities, hourly payroll oversight, accounts payable responsibilities, and program and policy guidance.

This position will be 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities
  • Up to 60% of the role will be dedicated to payroll compliance, including auditing time entry, running reports, and providing support to the Mill for hourly time processing
  • Perform a wide variety of administrative assignments for the Mill, including training administration, accounts payable resolution, vendor setup, record-keeping, and other miscellaneous tasks as required.
  • Provide HR administrative support, including fielding benefit questions, and questions regarding Mill and Corporate policies and procedures.
  • Support & role-model Mill's safety program initiatives
  • Maintain office supply inventory
  • Prepare materials for presentations or reports using various software applications such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Maintain records, research & gather data, and compose correspondence
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Diploma or Associates (2-year) degree in Business or Office Education or an equivalent program with minimum three (3) years' experience in an Administrative Support position
  • Experience with UKG is an asset
  • Payroll experience supporting complex shift structure is preferred, with enrolment or completion of the Canadian Payroll Certification
  • Experience within a 24/7 manufacturing operation is an asset
  • Experience supporting multiple managers
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills, sense of accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Team oriented, and the ability to work independently
  • Proven, proactive problem-solving approach with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling varying priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work successfully with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to role model safe practices and actively support the Mill’s safety, quality and production goals
Compensation

This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $58,800 - $81,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
