Role

Actuarial Pricing Manager-Commercial Lines

This role will drive profitability across Commercial Lines by developing and maintaining line-of-business indications, pricing models, and predictive analytics. Collaborate closely with the actuarial pricing team and Data & Analytics to deliver actionable insights and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Commercial Lines Pricing: Responsible for ensuring adequate Commercial lines pricing decisions across IRCA, Fleet, Garage and P&C lines of business are being included but not limited to regular rate indication creation by line of business, actuarial insights into loss patterns, or loss development which help to guide improved pricing models or analytic models for all Commercial Lines of business.
  • Supporting larger account and program pricing indications and suggested rate level increases
  • Data Literacy & Model Building: Build sophisticated pricing models for complicated problems in conjunction with our Data & Analytics team; understand what the commercial portfolio data means and interpret it to draw appropriate conclusions and actions; break large problems into smaller, manageable parts with viable solution implementations.
  • Implementation Support: Work with the appropriate teams to determine actions to create pricing models and maintain adequate pricing across all commercial lines, including determining supports required and creating a plan to complete them in a timely manner; implement pricing models within Earnix and manage testing/deployment, regulatory filing creation, remittance, and approval support.
  • Personal Development: Complete CAS exams or be close to finished; project-specific research may be required. Any applicable People Management training will be completed.
  • Coaching: Provide daily support to team members and coach their growth from Actuarial Analyst to Senior Actuarial Analyst (and beyond!).
What will you need to succeed in this role?
  • Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematics / Statistics with FCAS designation or close to completion.
  • 7+ years’ experience FCAS or close equivalent.
  • 7+ years’ experience as a Senior Actuarial Analyst or specialist with another P&C insurer.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data and metrics to drive improvements.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to break large problems into smaller, more manageable problems and find solutions to complex problems.
  • Willing to say “yes” to things that seem impossible.
