Job Title: Accounting Manager/Controller

Location: Hybrid - 90 Eglinton Avenue East / Remote

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Position Overview:

The Accounting Manager/Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient day to day financial operation of our organization. This position is responsible for financial accounting including monthly close processes, A/R & A/P, payroll, coordinating various operational tasks, and administrative support to other functions.. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented, responsible, and capable of multitasking effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance & Accounting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
  • Prepare and process invoices and payments
  • Own the monthly financial close process
  • Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Collaborate with external accountants during audits or tax filings.
  • Prepare budget and actual reporting for the executive team
  • Assess and Implement new tools around payroll, accounting, HRIS, benefits, etc. as required

Administrative Support:

  • Provide certain administrative support to executives and team members, including onboarding/offboarding assistances and records management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years Experience in bookkeeping, financial record keeping, and payroll processing.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software (Quickbooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
