Job Description

Join our team as a Consultant, where you will play a crucial role in documenting and improving accounting processes across various departments, including Nutrition, Environmental Services, and Facilities. You will be responsible for implementing changes to enhance accuracy, traceability, and efficiency in financial operations. Your work will support Ministry of Health reporting and help streamline month-end activities.

Responsibilities
  • Document end-to-end accounting processes for different areas and sites.
  • Investigate and improve legacy system postings to SAP.
  • Identify gaps and recommend improvements in month-end activities.
  • Develop reporting tools and analytics for utilities consumption and costs.
  • Ensure strong documentation and controls for Ministry of Health reporting.
  • Redesign facilities chargeback practices to support reconciliation processes.
  • Support implementation and change management for new processes.
  • Map day-to-day transactions and document process flows.
  • Advise stakeholders and understand business components from a consulting perspective.
  • Take initiative and lead efforts across accounting support and operations.
  • Review details and guide stakeholders in navigating ERP systems.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial process improvement, accounting operations, or consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Proven ability to document processes and implement workflow improvements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated presentation and training skills.
  • Ability to explain complex issues in plain language.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Financial experience in healthcare is a definite asset.
  • Excellent technical skills in Excel and financial systems.
  • Previous experience implementing organizational change.
  • Ability to understand contracts and map charges across multiple buildings.
Work Environment

This position offers a flexible work environment with a hybrid model, requiring three days in the office and the option to work from home as necessary. The work week consists of 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM. The role involves close interaction with various stakeholders, providing broad exposure to different groups and levels within the organization. The office location provides easy access to public transit and shuttle services. Please note that there is a vacation blackout period from March 31st to April during the fiscal year-end close.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
