Job summary

A leading pharmaceutical and healthcare company in Canada is seeking an experienced finance/accounting professional to manage daily accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS in Business with a focus in Accounting and at least 5 years’ relevant experience, preferably within the industry. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with US GAAP, coordinating internal audits, and enhancing workflow procedures. Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business with emphasis in Accounting; CPA designation is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of directly related experience in Finance/Accounting.
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry or in auditing is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting practices and principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures across various accounting teams.
  • Support the creation, review, and update of SOX narratives and coordinate the SOX testing program.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX through internal control procedures.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, preparing and facilitating as needed.
  • Foster development of new procedures to enhance workflow and financial accuracy.
