Job summary

A regional health network is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a casual part-time position in Bowmanville. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical aspects of drug distribution and maintaining patient safety. Ideal candidates will have registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists and knowledge of pharmacy dispensing processes. Qualifications

• Must be registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
• Graduate from a recognized Pharmacy Technician Education Program.
• Knowledge of pharmacy automation is preferred.

This position is open to all qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 27 January 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 3 February 2026.

Duties And Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician will be an integral member of the Pharmacy team and will be accountable for the technical aspects of drug distribution. The Pharmacy Technician will work to ensure patient safety and for the accuracy, quality, integrity and timeliness of pharmaceutical product and release.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT);
• Graduate of a CCAPP (Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program and within 6 months of registering with OCP;
• Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes - traditional and unit dose;
• Knowledge of pharmacy automation including experience with unit dose packaging and automated dispensing cabinets preferred;
• Demonstrated accuracy, organizational skills, problem‑solving and multi‑tasking skills;
• Proven effective verbal and written communication;
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment;
• Computer skills related to Microsoft Office including Word and Excel are preferred;

• Must have a satisfactory performance record;
