Job description
Position Details
  • Location: Vancouver (west side)
  • Start Date: December 27, 2025
  • Hours: Sunday to Friday, 6:30 pm to 8 am (overnight); every last Sunday of the month, 8 am to 8 am (24 hrs)
  • Employment Status: Permanent Full-Time
  • Rate Of Pay: $2,300/month (tax free) + $200 grocery allowance
  • Probation: 3 months
  • Driving Requirement: Not required

Highlights

The salaried caregiver role is a unique opportunity, with a contract to be a foster parent employee. The salaried caregiver will share a home with an individual with a disability, living together in the person’s home. The salaried caregiver provides support and companionship to the individual, working as part of a collaborative team that includes community support workers, professional supports, and of course the individual and their families.

Finding the right match and creating a supportive home environment that feels as natural as possible is the goal.

The expectation is that you will live with the individual in their home and that this will be your principal place of residence.

About This Opportunity
  • We are looking for someone to share a two bedroom apartment on Granville Island.
  • E is a woman in her 30s who loves music, her iPad, getting out and exploring her neighbourhood and Vancouver.
  • E uses a wheelchair but is able to walk with some assistance so the home is wheelchair accessible.
  • We would suit someone who has interests outside of the home (a second part-time job, school etc.) as you would have daytime hours off.
  • Comprehensive group benefits package available upon successful completion of probationary period (3 months).
Duties And Responsibilities

As this is a roommate position it is not a shift that you would be working but spending time with E in the evening preparing dinner, watching a movie, visiting friends. Spending time together.
